Tai Chi
Nature of Martial Arts Training: Imagine a customer walks up to the counter in a drugstore and asks, "I would like to buy some peace of mind. What aisle do you have that on?" As we all know, true peace of mind doesn't come in a bottle. It requires commitment and hard work.
Tai chi means balance - yin/yang balance - or balance of opposing forces. Much like yoga, it can be practiced for health. It is particularly good for balance, building strength in the legs and improving energy, all while creating a peaceful state of mind.
Unlike yoga, the movements are functional. While one class per week is enough to learn, a daily home practice is important to achieve benefits and remember previous moves of the form as you advance.
